Alvarado Fonseca Family - Corazón de Jesús
Jhon Alvarado Abarca aka "Johny", finalist in multiple CoE - recent 2024 Auction and 2nd place in category of traditional honey & natural processes (92 score), makes an example that with vision, hard work and constant investment, you can achieve big dreams.
Located in Brunca region, at 1250 masl, Jhon and Antonio are deeply involved in coffee with a great energy and attitude. Many of Jhonys’ siblings also have coffee farms around the region. In total, the brothers have 16 ha of coffee cultivation divided into four farms and a good harvest year can produce 800 bags of coffee.
La Torre - a small experimental farm of two hectares, is one of the first farms with Gesha planted in the Brunca region in the south of the country.
One of our favourite coffees from the Alvarado family is their pre-dried Gesha variety, a Cup of Excellence winner.
Corazon de Jesus / La Torre
Corazón de Jesús micro mill has 4 coffee farms, 3 of them already are producing coffee and 1 is still waiting. Finca La Torre is located in the territorial division between the towns of División de Páramo and La Piedra de Rivas, at an altitude of 1950m. Divided by altitude, at 1900-1950 they grow; SL28, Gesha, Gesha Panameño and Ethiopia 47.
